Hit (Cannabis)

A "hit" in the context of cannabis refers to a single inhalation of cannabis smoke or vapor. This inhalation can be from a variety of methods, including:

  • Joints (or spliffs): Rolled cigarettes containing cannabis. A hit is a single draw from a joint.
  • Pipes: A hit involves drawing the smoke from a bowl packed with cannabis.
  • Bongs: A bong provides a larger, more concentrated hit due to water filtration and increased airflow.
  • Dab Rigs: These rigs vaporize cannabis concentrates, delivering a potent and intensely fast-acting hit.
  • Vaporizers (pens or desktop): Vaporizers heat cannabis to produce vapor, and a hit is a single inhalation of this vapor.

The size and intensity of a hit can vary greatly depending on the method of consumption, the potency of the cannabis, and the individual's inhalation technique. Experienced users may take larger hits, while newcomers often prefer smaller, less intense ones.

The effects of a hit are felt relatively quickly, typically within minutes, and the duration and intensity depend on several factors, including the cannabis strain, method of consumption, and individual tolerance. These effects can range from mild relaxation and euphoria to more intense psychoactive experiences. It's important to note that the effects can be unpredictable, especially for first-time users.
